Why I became a Financial Planner?
When I first started working in Financial Services as a Trainee Manager for a Building Society, I found that helping clients to straighten out their finances was really enjoyable and gave me an immense feeling of job satisfaction.
Specialist areas of advice I find rewarding.
I just enjoy working with clients so I don’t really have any specialist areas that I find more rewarding than others. Each client has their own specific circumstances and I really like the variety of advice challenges that this brings.
What's important to me when delivering advice?
I like to place the client at the heart of the advice process so that they are provided with advice that is bespoke to their needs and with sufficient information so that each client can make informed decisions.
My favourite book and film.
My favourite book (and film) is To Kill A Mocking Bird by Harper Lee. It’s just brilliant in the way it’s written, the atmosphere it creates on the page and how thought provoking it is to the reader.
What matters to you most in three words?
Family, friends and golf! I have a big family so most weekends are spent with family and friends because someone is getting married or celebrating a new arrival or a birthday. I love playing golf but I’m useless at it!
What I enjoy most about my role.
I really enjoy meeting new people and building long term relationships that develop and grow over time. I have been advisor to some of clients for over 15 years and they feel like friends to me.
